Cost of Operation

Powerblanket® products are designed to meet your heating needs at an economical return on investment.

Just one example…our blanket cured concrete 2.8 times faster than a standard curing blanket. To demonstrate that, a third party conducted a test to compare the performance of a Powerblanket® Multi Duty blanket versus a standard curing blanket when the surrounding air temperature ranged from 22.3°F to 38.6°F (which met the definition of the American Concrete Institute for Cold Weather Concreting).

To do that, they set up a slab of concrete and put three blankets over it – a standard curing blanket, a Multi Duty blanket with the power off and a Multi Duty blanket with the power on. The test was to see how high the Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) would get under each blanket within a 72 hour period. Here are the results…

PSI
Powerblanket® Multi Duty blanket with the power on  3,925
Powerblanket® Multi Duty blanket with the power off  2,462
Standard curing blanket  2,162

That means that the concrete achieved a PSI in 2.8 days in what would normally take 7 days! (Equivalent age in days at 21°C (Q=4700) per ASTM C-1074.)

Achieving this level of performance means money saved by faster pours. Faster pours mean more jobs. More jobs makes a very economical return on investment of the cost of operating a Powerblanket® brand product.
